Activist investor Starboard Value disclosed a 9.9% stake in Bloomin’ Brands (NASDAQ: BLMN).
Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. is one of the largest casual dining restaurant companies in the world, with a portfolio of leading, differentiated restaurant concepts. Company operates four founder-inspired concepts: Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
Restaurant concepts range in price point and degree of formality from casual (Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba’s Italian Grill) to upscale casual (Bonefish Grill) and fine dining (Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar). As of December 25, 2022, Bloomin’ Brands owned and operated 1,186 full-service restaurants and off-premises only kitchens and franchised 321 full-service restaurants and off-premises only kitchens across 47 states, Guam and 13 countries.
